Hola Amigos de Íbero!
We wanted to share with you the activities we have planned this week at the school. Remember that you are always welcome to bring your friends and traveling buddies to any of our activities.
On Monday, July 20th, we have an Argentine movie planned to watch at the school. This week we chose the movie, "Historias Minimas." The movie takes place in Patagonia, is filmed in Patagonia and even played by real Patagonians (not actors). It´s a great film to learn what real life is like in Southern Argentina and see how the people are. We will be meeting at the school at 2 o´clock. Don´t forget that we have the option of playing the English subtitles so we can hear the Spanish and see the English! Perfect for learning.
On Tuesday the 21st we are going to go to the National Museum of Decorative Art here in Buenos Aires. The museum, located in Avenida Del Libertador, was orginally the house of a very rich and prominent family here in Buenos Aires in the 20th century. These days, it serves as a museum and at the moment has a temporary glass exhibit from German and Italian artists. If you would like to join us, you should know that there is a 2 peso charge and we will be meeting at the school at 3:00 to walk together.
On Wednesday the 22nd of June, we are going to visit the Jardin Japonés here in Buenos Aires. It´s a huge park located in the Palermo neighborhood near Avenida del Libertado. It was built years ago by the large Japanese community living here in Argentina. The beautiful oriental decorations have been very well taken care of over the years. There is also an excellent restaurante that serves delicious and authentic sushi. We will meet at 3:00 in the school to go together. The entrance fee is 5 pesos - Nos Vemos!
On Thursday we are going out to dinner for an argentine Peña folclorica in a restaurante called El Empujon del Diablo in Palermo near Santa Fe. A Peña folclorica is a place where you eat typical Argentine cuisuine like tomales, empanadas and steak and listen to typical Argentine guitar music. For those of you who would like to come, we will meet at Nicaragua and Angel J Carranza at 8:30. The dinner will cost about 30 pesos. See you there!
